RGB Mini-LED vs Mini-LED
RGB Mini-LED is a Mini-LED TV with a better light source, not a different kind of television.
Same LCD panel, same local dimming behaviour, same blooming characteristics. The backlight makes colour differently.
What stays the same
Both put a grid of small LEDs behind an LCD panel and dim them in zones. Contrast, blooming and off-angle behaviour are governed by the panel and the dimming algorithm, and an RGB backlight changes none of them.
What actually changes
Colour volume. A conventional Mini-LED filters white light; an RGB Mini-LED makes the colour at the source. The gain shows up in saturated colours at high brightness rather than in black level.
Is it worth waiting for?
A good Mini-LED television is available today at every size and price from about $500 up. The RGB versions are no longer hypothetical either: Samsung's Micro RGB starts at $1,599.99 for a 55-inch, which puts it in the same bracket as a strong conventional Mini-LED rather than in flagship-only territory.
